August Personal Growth Meeting

Drugs, Drinking, Vaping and Driving

hosted by Southlake Driving School

480 W. Southlake Blvd, Ste. 119, Southlake

Sunday, August 12, 2018

Session 1: 4:00-5:00

Session 2: 5:00-6:00

Alcohol, drugs and driving simply do not go together. Driving requires a person’s attentiveness and the ability to make quick decisions on the road, to react to changes in the environment and execute specific maneuvers behind the wheel. When drinking alcohol, using drugs, or being distracted for any reason, driving becomes dangerous – and potentially lethal!  The Southlake Driving School will discuss the dangerous implications of drinking or drugging and driving, as well as the dangers of distracted driving such as using a cell phone, texting, and vaping.

Please sign up for one session only they are identical sessions.

Personal Growth Meetings are attended for a SASO credit only, boys may not turn in Personal Growth Meetings for volunteer hours.

GRACE Feed the Kids August 8 and 9

GRACE Feed the Kids

Wednesday, August 8, and Thursday, August 9, 2018

6 Mother/Son Pairs each day

11:15AM – 1:15PM

GRACE Food Pantry, 837 East Walnut St., Grapevine

Feed Our Kids is a summer lunch program run by GRACE that provides lunches for children at designated sites close to where they live. Most of the children qualify for reduced or free lunches during the school year.  This bridges the gap for children who may not otherwise receive lunch during the summer.  GRACE calls upon local organizations to make and serve the lunches each week.  SASO boys will provide lunch to the children at the Food Pantry location on Wednesday, August 8 and Thursday, August 9.  We will serve between 60-100 children.  We will also play games and interact with the kids.  Lunch service runs from 11:45-12:45.  Volunteers need to arrive at the Food Pantry at 11:15 to help set up and should be prepared to stay until 1:15 to clean up.
